ABMS is a highly-regarded, not-for-profit organization comprising 24 medical specialty boards, that oversees physician certification in the US. See whether your doctor is board-certified in his/her specialty (such as Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Surgery, Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, etc.) and in his/her subspecialty (such as Cardiovascular Disease, Geriatric Medicine, Oncology, Endocrinology, Neonatal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, etc.) Click on Is Your Doctor Certified on the left of the ABMS page. Registration (free) is required, but in many years of using this site, the editor has experienced no down-side to it & would encourage visitors to use the site

AMA Doctor Finder  Editor's Pick

American Medical Association site provides information on members of the AMA first, but also lists information on non-member physicians. Site reports over 814,000 physicians listed, and shows board certification as well as training. However, you may not find all doctors who are not members of the AMA, nor those not Board-certified.
