Find the number of injuries from ATVs – All-Terrain Vehicles and other Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs). The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued its annual report of injuries and deaths from ATVs. Injuries brought an 112,300 people to the ER in 2020. More than 30,000 injuries were to kids under age 16, representing 27% of all OHV-Related Emergency Department-Treated Injuries in 2020. ER treated injuries associated with off-road vehicles were up 17% in 2020 (the first year of the pandemic), compared to 2019. Nearly one in five was hospitalized. The most common body parts for injury were head & neck, and arm. In 2018, there were 681 deaths associated with ATVs and other OHVs. Report released November 2021.
