The initiative engaged U.S. hospitals in a commitment to implement changes proven to improve patient care and prevent avoidable deaths. The original Campaign (January 2005 to June 14, 2006) offered assistance with Rapid Response Teams, heart attack care, adverse drug events, central line-associated bloodstream infections, surgical site infections and ventilator-associated pneumonia.
