LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Index Ratings of Hospitals and Clinics 2022
Annual LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Index designated 496 U.S. hospitals, clinics and other facilities as Equality Leaders for their policies and practices related to the gay, lesbian, bisexual transgender and queer community. An additional 251 were named as top performers, which apparently is a lower designation than “leader”. The Index had 906 active participants. Criteria include patient non-discrimination (including hospital visitation) and staff training in LGBTQ+ patient-centered care; patient services and support; employee benefits and policies; and patient/community engagement; and “responsible citizenship”.
