CMS announced the standard Medicare Part B monthly premium will cost $174.70 (up nearly $10) in 2024 for most beneficiaries ($2,096 per year). The Part B deductible will be $240 (up $14). Part B premiums and the Part B deductible are both up about 6%. High income seniors will pay between $244.60 and $594.00 per month. CMS says about 8% of Medicare beneficiaries pay the high-income premiums for Part B. Medicare Part B covers physician services, outpatient hospital services, certain home health services, durable medical equipment, and other items. The Medicare Part A hospital insurance deductible will rise by $32 (2.0%) to $1,632. High-income people will also pay more for Part D drug insurance – between $12.90 and $81.00 extra per month.
