Nursing Shortage Fact Sheet – AACN

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) states that despite a significant growth in the number of RNs between 2016 and 2026, there will still be a shortage of more than 200,000. Most recent studies of nursing enrollment show that U.S. nursing schools turned away more than 75,000 qualified applicants due to faculty shortages, clinical sites, budget constraints and the like.
