ProHealth Care (Waukesha and Oconomowoc, Wisconsin) provides current online estimates of charges for some common inpatient hospitalizations such as maternity, and hospital prices for common outpatient tests or surgical procedures. Estimates may be good for over 4 months. It is assumed these estimates are updated for 2022. Expected payments are dependent on insurance plan or uninsured. In addition, a full list of required charges are listed in the Excel format (user-unfriendly), as of January 1, 2021. These “standard charges” are meant to be compliant with the new CMS federal price transparency rule. Over 41,000 line items are listed for each hospital, so it may be very hard for consumers to find the required short list of “shoppable” services in the Excel file.
