TeamSTEPPS 2.0 is a teamwork system that optimizes patient outcomes, improves patient safety, communication and teamwork skills among health care professionals. Four competency areas are Leadership, Situation Monitoring, Mutual Support, and Communication. In addition to hospitals, special modules are tailored to physician offices, long term care nursing homes, and dental practices. The National Implementation Project for TeamSTEPPS, developed by AHRQ and the US Dept. of Defense, provides training materials, curriculum and webinars to support implementation.
