Altogether, 42,888 transplants were done in the US in 2022, the highest number ever. Transplants were up 3.7% from the prior year. Latest report shows 25,499 kidney transplants were done in 2022, up 3.4% from 2021. Next most common was liver transplants (9,528 in 2022, up 3.2% from 2021.)
