Gretchen Dahlen is now retired. She worked as a health care executive and consultant. Her professional career blended executive management and CEO experience with extensive health care consulting. As president of The Dahlen Company LLC, she provided interim CEO services and facilitated leadership retreats for boards of directors and top executives. She brought significant expertise in strategy development, strategic planning and enhancing the role of the board. Her experience in conducting quality improvement seminars and her belief in the power of transparency, led to the development of Consumer Health Ratings in 2006. The website is a free public service guide to online ratings of health care quality and cost for consumers. She holds a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan. Ms. Dahlen is a past member of the Board of AARP, a Life Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a past Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors. She also served on the National Advisory Council for AHRQ – the federal Agency on Healthcare Research and Quality.
