Missouri Hospital Association: FocusOnHospitals (Master Producer site)

Missouri Hospital Association FocusOnHospitals reports hospital-specific information for Quality Measures (complications, infections, readmissions, unexpected deaths), Average Prices for 2021 (inpatient, maternity, newborn and emergency room prices, and Financial Measures (called Community, which includes 2020 data for charity care). Expected to be updated quarterly. This is the “Master Producer” site for MO hospitals. Updated 2022.

Primary Care Physician Projections to 2035 (HRSA, Aug. 2022)

Federal agency HRSA projects supply and demand for primary care physicians to the year 2035. The projected shortage in primary care doctors is over 14,000 practitioners by 2035. Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) are counted in the projections. This report is a high level overview, that shows demand continues to outstrip supply. An older 2016 report discusses ways NPs can manage 80 to 90 percent of care provided by primary care physicians such as, take medical histories, conduct exams, order and interpret tests, develop treatment plans, and provide preventive care. HRSA is the Health Resources and Services Administration agency. Dashboard updated August 2022.

Consumers may also query Utah’s Open Data catalog, which is difficult for consumers to use.  Select “Latest News” or “About the Data” to find publications in the drop down menu. Such reports may be easier to read.

Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality. WCHQ is a voluntary consortium of organizations (doctors, dentists, hospitals and health insurance plans, supported by community businesses) publicly reports and explains performance measures to improve the quality and affordability of healthcare in Wisconsin.
