Wisconsin – Hospital Rate Increases in 2022 and 2021

Find how much Wisconsin hospital rate increases are for 2022 and the year before (2021). When updated by the Wisconsin Hospital Association’s Information Center (July 8, 2022), increases for 2022 were averaging 4.06%. Many hospitals have not yet reported price increases for 2022. The average hospital price increase during 2021 for all WI hospitals was 4.46%. The most recent CPI Index for 2021 ended at 1.4%. Worthy of note, Select Specialty Hospitals in Madison, Milwaukee and West Allis each raised their prices nearly 22% to 24% on January 1, 2021. Additionally, Aspirus Merrill Hospital raised its prices nearly 16% on Dec. 1, 2021. Within a hospital, the specific price of any individual service can be raised more or less than the average overall price increase.
