List of 1390 top physicians in over 60 different specialties, for the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Whether you’re looking for the best cancer specialist, the best eye doctor, a general surgeon for that gall bladder, a pediatric specialist (15 pediatric specialties) or a top psychiatrist, this list is one resource to identify the top few. However, many others (nearly 6000) who ranked in the top 10% as recommended by colleagues are NOT listed at the site; presumably due to not paying the listing fee. Information is brief, such as training, hospital affiliations and board certification. It would be wise to verify credentials before you decide. Madison Magazine asked Dane County physicians to name top doctors in 73 medical, pediatric and surgical disciplines that they would recommend to their family and friends. Generally, 3 to 6 physicians per specialty are listed; more than 200 in total. Such a list is reputation-oriented and based on personal experience, and does not necessarily reflect actual performance data. Number of respondents to survey is not shown. Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) has designated hundreds of hospitals and surgeons, as Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Centers of Excellence. SRC is a non-profit corporation representing bariatric surgeons. It promotes high standards of care in weight loss surgery. Highest rated for 2018 were Virginia Mason, Kaiser Permanente Washington and The Polyclinic for Commercially insured patients; UW Medicine-Valley Medical Group and International Community Health Services were highest for Medicaid patients.
